Vox.com is a user's guide to the news produced by the beat reporters and subject area experts who know it best. We are looking for a talented news graphics designer to help us maintain continuous coverage of the stories that matter most.

The Vox Visuals team is looking for a news graphics designer who loves visualizing complex ideas and information. This position is part of the Vox Visuals team, a group of developers, visual experts, and graphic designers tasked to make great internet. We work with reporters, editors, and freelancers to tell in-depth daily, feature, and longform stories across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate has great design sensibilities that effortlessly translate into storytelling.

The key mark of success in this role is the ability to work with a reporter, identify the best visual solutions for the story, and be able to execute them. Broadly speaking, you love using design, typography, and color to convey information. And more narrowly, you can visualize information into graphics, charts, and illustrations. You will have the full support of a multidisciplinary visuals team and a phenomenally talented graphics editor.

Ideally your portfolio shows the variety of ways you have helped influence, guide, and create visually driven stories. Your main focus will be to offer visual solutions to daily news stories as well as features and possibly long-term projects.

Vox Visuals values creatives, thinkers and obsessives from all backgrounds. We are looking to hire the right person - not the right resume. If you are fearless with design, passionate about journalism, and love working on a team — please apply!

This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC.
